If you arrive after registration hours on Saturday and still want to attend the Welcome Reception at the Hilton Portland and Executive Towers Grand Ballroom, we will be able to check in preregistered attendees at the entrance. Name tags and program books will still need to be picked up at the Registration Desk during registration hours.

 

Tours

If you are registered for a pre-congress tour, please meet at the Hilton Portland and Executive Towers at the listed departure time. The tours are currently sold out, but you may stop by the pick-up location to see if any seats have become available.

 

Time Change Notice: Monday's City Tour will now be departing from the Oregon Convention Center at 2:15 p.m. and returning to the Hilton Portland and Executive Towers at 5:15 p.m.

 

Pre-congress Courses

Limited space is still available in the pre-congress courses taking place Saturday, July 28. If you have yet to register and wish to attend, please come to the course room 15 minutes prior to the course. There is an additional fee to attend these offerings, and lunch is not provided in the course fee.

WBC 2012 E-Proceedings

New this year the WBC 2012 E-Proceedings will be an easy-to-use online resource containing all abstracts plus the posters and oral presentations submitted for inclusion in the proceedings. Posters can be magnified to focus on specific text, figures, images, tables, and graphs. Oral presentations will include the author’s full slide show complete with graphics. Citable abstracts of all presentations will be included. Access to the WBC 2012 E–Proceedings can be purchased at the Registration Desk for $45.

 

Traveling Around Portland

PDX Airport Service: The trip to/from downtown Portland takes about 38 minutes and requires an “All-Zone” fare ($2.40 Adult, $1 Honored Citizen or $1.50 Youth/Student). The first train of the day arrives at PDX at 4:58 a.m. on weekdays and 5:04 a.m. on weekends. The last Red Line train departs PDX at 11:49 p.m. The MAX station and ticket machines are located near baggage claim on the lower level. (flypdx.com)

 

Around Portland: It is free to ride the TriMet MAX lines between the congress hotels and the Oregon Convention Center. Trains run every 8-15 minutes during most of the day and usually run between 4:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m.

 

Red and Blue Lines (15 minutes on train)

Depart from the Pioneer Square South stop at Yamhill between Broadway and 6th.

Returning, you will get off at the Pioneer Square North stop at Morrison between Broadway and 6th.

 

Green Line (17 minutes on train)

Depart from Pioneer Courthouse/SW 6th Ave at 6th between Yamhill and Morrison.

Returning, you will get off at the Pioneer Place/SW 5th at 5th between Yamhill and Morrison.

Bring Your Company's Bottle Opener

Another chance for visibility for your company - bring a logo'd bottle opener from your organization to be used in the hospitality suite or at other networking events. There will be a spot to drop your bottle opener at the Registration Desk.

 

Silent Auction

We still want your donations for the WBC Silent Auction. Please bring them onsite and drop them off at the Registration Desk. Donations tend to include, but are not limited to, company novelties, event tickets, gift baskets, crafts, sports memorabilia, and antiques. Proceeds from the silent auction will be used to support students’ educational and research endeavors. This year’s auction will also include a raffle for three handmade quilts. Raffle tickets for the quilts will be available for purchase at the Registration Desk, and the raffle will be held at the end of the auction on Tuesday. Stop by Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday to bid on a fun selection of donated items.

 

Dress

The official dress of WBC 2012 is business casual.

 

Guests

Guest registration is available and provides guests with access to the hospitality lounge. Guests wishing to attend the Welcome Reception, Closing Event, or Closing Luncheon must purchase additional tickets. Guests do not have access to the technical program or exhibit hall.
